This week Mrs Kelliher delivered a phonics workshop to Reception and Year 1 parents on the Set 2 sounds that children learn when they start to read. All parents who attended participated brilliantly and joined in with sounding out the sounds. Parent all received the speed sounds and support with how to read with their child at home. We discussed that when writing not to worry too much about the correct spelling for this age but that it can be read with phonetically (using alternative spellings of sounds). They also received an email with the resources and video links to everything that was shared. In Spring 1 we will look at the Set 3 sounds.
